Suggested Offerings for Djehuty

In ancient Egypt, scribes would make an offering to Djehuty by pouring a small amount of ink onto the ground before beginning their work. During a festival to Djehuty occuring shortly after the start of the new year, worshippers ate figs and honey, and greeted one another with "Sweet is the Truth."

The following list is a compilation of offerings that Kemetics feel Djehuty has enjoyed receiving. All of the items listed here come from unverified personal gnosis (UPG), although some of the items are universally agreed upon.

The offerings are usually presented to Netjer during ritual (such as the Senut), and left in the shrine for a time. The offerings are then removed at the end of ritual, and then used or consumed by the worshipper. In Kemetic thought, offerings are received by the gods, and through the reversion of offerings, are given back to the worshipper. Therefore, not eating the food you offered is considered wasteful.

The list is only a starting point. Open your heart to Djehuty, and ask Him what He would like. The answers may surprise you.
